The choice of a screen defines the experience of a space

As a national technical blind manufacturer, Enrollatech designs 1%, 3%, 5% and 10% screen fabrics adapted to each space. A screen is not just a fabric: it is a smart filter of light, heat and privacy.

In reality, the decision requires understanding orientation, hours of sunlight exposure, the function of the space and the expected level of confort.

At Enrollatech, we turn that decision into a process that is both tecnical and aesthetic.

Enrollatech's 1% screen fabric

The language of numbers: what each opening means

Fabrics opening

The opening factor indicates the percentage of holes in the fabric. This data determines how much light, heat and outward visibility the fabric allows.

Opening Light and View Privacy Recommended uses

1%

Maximum control of light. Very limited outside view. Almost total privacy Bedrooms, projection rooms, offices with glare.
3%  Lets in more light, but without specialization. Medium privacy Standard homes, projects without demanding requirements.
5% Brings brightness and views. Low privacy Living rooms, spaces where connection with the outdoors is a priority.
10% Maximum light entry. Minimal protection. No privacy Only for north-facing façades, open views, no direct sunlight exposure.
Technical data

Technical data: according to EN 410 tests, a 1% screen reduces up to 98% of direct radiation, while a 10% barely exceeds 70%.

Orientation and hours of sunlight: the invisible key

South façade

South Façade

Receives sunlight during central hours: requires low openness (1%) or high-reflection fabrics.

North façade

North Façade

Hardly receives direct sunlight: a 5% or even 10% is viable if the priority is enjoying the view.

Low sun on winter

Winter vs Summer

Winter sun, low and direct, is more disturbing than the high summer sun.

» It's not about the location (Mallorca, Madrid, Burgos), it's about the angles of incidence and orientation. That is the difference between advising and just selling.

Color: deciding between seeing or being seen

The color of the screen radically changes the experience:

Light colors screen fabrics

Light colors

More privacy, less outward view

Dark color screen fabrics

Dark colors

Better outward visibility, but reduced indoor privacy.

The final choice is a balance between enjoying the view or protecting privacy.

Real application cases

Offices

Office

1% helps, but does not eliminate all glare. For that, there are specific fabrics (dinout, 0%) or solutions like Veneroll, able to filter much more without being opaque.

Vivienda orientada al sur

South-facing home

The optimal colution is an exterior screen with ZIP guides, acting as a thermal barrier before the façade. If it must be installed indoors, the most effective option is 1%.

Restaurants and Hotels

When the priority is thermal comfort, the answer is metallized fabrics with high solar reflection (over 60% reflection compared to 35% of a standard screen). When the view is more important, a 1% in dark tone offers a balance between aesthetics and protection.

Sustainability and energy efficiency

A well-prescribed screen does not only bring design. It also translates into numbers:

  • Up to 30% less air conditioning use in summer.

  • Up to 15% less electricity consumption in lighting.

We are not just talking about aesthetics: we are talking about energy footprint, savings, and sustainable comfort.
